Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
TalkStride ("TalkStride," "we," "us") helps you practice speaking out loud and gives you feedback on how you sound. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers talkstride.com and the TalkStride app. By using TalkStride you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider. We do not store your password.
- Voice recordings and transcripts. When you complete a speaking rep or an interview, we capture the audio you record so we can transcribe it and analyze your delivery (pace, pauses, filler words, clarity, and similar signals). We keep the resulting transcript and your scores.
- Practice activity. Your sessions, scores, streaks, prompts used, and progress over time.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor collects and handles your card details. We never receive or store your full card number. We keep a record of your subscription status and billing history.
- Notifications. If you opt in to reminders, we store an email preference so we can send you streak nudges.
- Device and usage data. Basic technical data such as browser type, approximate region, and how you use the app, collected to keep the service running and secure.
- Analytics and session recordings. To understand how TalkStride is used and to fix problems, we capture product analytics (pages and screens viewed, taps and clicks, scrolling, and similar interaction events) and may record a replay of your on-screen activity during a visit. Text you type is masked and not captured, and we never record your voice, your transcripts, or your payment fields in these recordings.
How we use your information
- To transcribe your recordings and generate your feedback and scores.
- To run the voice interviewer, including spoken questions and follow-ups.
- To track your progress, streaks, and longitudinal coaching over time.
- To process subscriptions, payments, and, where applicable, creator payouts.
- To send reminders and important account messages if you have opted in.
- To keep TalkStride secure, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your recordings to advertise to you.
Your voice recordings
Your recordings are yours. We process them only to give you feedback and to power features you choose to use. Audio is sent to our transcription and voice providers solely to convert speech to text and to analyze delivery. You can delete a session at any time from your history, which removes its recording, transcript, and scores from your account. You can also ask us to delete your entire account and its data.
Analytics and session recording
We use a product analytics provider to measure how TalkStride is used so we can improve it and diagnose issues. This includes pseudonymous interaction data such as the pages and screens you view, the buttons and links you tap or click, scroll depth, approximate region, device and browser type, and performance data. It also includes session recordings, which replay your on-screen activity (cursor movement, taps, and navigation) during a visit so we can see where the product is confusing or broken.
Privacy is built into how this works. We mask all text inputs, so anything you type, including passwords and personal details, is never captured. We do not record your voice, your transcripts, or your card details. This data is linked only to your account identifier so we can connect it to your experience, and it is never sold and never used for cross-app or cross-site advertising or tracking.
Where the law requires it, we rely on your consent or on our legitimate interest in keeping the product working and improving it. You can ask us to stop analytics and session recording for your account at any time by contacting us, and we honor browser and device privacy signals where applicable. Recordings are retained for a limited period and then automatically deleted.
Service providers we share with
We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who process it on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. These include:
- Authentication for account sign-in and identity.
- Database and hosting to store your account, sessions, and scores.
- Speech transcription and voice to turn your audio into text and to speak interview questions.
- Feedback generation to produce your written coaching from your transcript.
- Payments to process subscriptions and payouts.
- Email delivery to send reminders you opted into.
- Product analytics to measure usage and record sessions for diagnostics so we can improve the product.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of TalkStride and its users.
Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Recordings, transcripts, and scores remain until you delete the session or your account. We may retain limited records (such as billing history) for as long as required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Delete individual sessions from your history.
- Turn reminders on or off at any time.
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.
To make a request, reach us through the contact link below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Security
We use reputable infrastructure and encryption in transit to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit access to it.
International transfers
We and our providers may process your information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Children
TalkStride is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of TalkStride after an update means you accept the revised policy.
